Recently, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing released the list of entities that have met the standards for the sixth batch of the “Road Freight Fleet Evaluation Indicators.” Shanxi Dahuatong New Energy Logistics Co., Ltd., whose operations are centered around the Pengfei hydrogen-powered heavy‑truck fleet, was included on the list and awarded the title of “Three‑Star Road Freight Fleet Meeting Standards.” In addition, Shanxi Dahuatong New Energy Logistics Co., Ltd. was also honored with the title of “Advanced Enterprise in Ecological and Environmental Protection Work of Xiaoyi City for 2023.”

In 2023, Shanxi Dahuatong New Energy Logistics forged ahead with determination on the path of transformation and upgrading, zero‑carbon logistics, and green development, achieving continuous improvement and significant breakthroughs. These accomplishments not only showcase Pengfei’s robust corporate management and operational capabilities but also underscore its sense of mission as a leading “chain‑leader” enterprise in the hydrogen energy industry chain. By collaborating closely with upstream and downstream partners, Pengfei has vigorously advanced innovations in hydrogen technology, systematically developed a comprehensive hydrogen‑energy value chain, and set a national benchmark by pioneering the first commercially viable application scenarios for hydrogen‑powered heavy‑duty trucks.

Since its establishment in October 2022, Shanxi Dahuatong New Energy Logistics has rigorously implemented Pengfei’s safety culture of “starting from zero and striving toward zero.” Through measures such as hazard identification and remediation, risk-based tiered control, and targeted safety training, the company has maintained a safe production environment that is both controllable and under effective oversight. The company currently operates 200 hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks, each with a maximum safe mileage of 110,000 kilometers and an on‑road availability rate of 100%. Its transportation services cover bulk commodities including raw coal, refined coal, coke, and aluminum ore, serving a radius of 350 kilometers centered on Xiaoyi City. Its operational footprint spans surrounding counties and cities such as Lüliang, Jinzhong, Linfen, Changzhi’s Qinyuan, and Jincheng’s Qinsui, thereby building a large‑scale, highly efficient zero‑carbon fleet for bulk commodity transport.

Since the first batch of 100 hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks was put into demonstration operation on November 22, 2022, these vehicles have collectively logged over 8 million kilometers and achieved carbon emission reductions of 11,000 tons. On December 29, 2023, the second batch of 100 second-generation hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks was officially commissioned at Pengfei. Building on a wealth of accumulated operational data, the second-generation models have undergone comprehensive upgrades through refined quality optimizations across the entire vehicle—covering the fuel cell system, the hydrogen storage system, and other key components—resulting in breakthroughs on all fronts.

Pengfei remains firmly committed to its goals, taking the lead and setting an example, consistently shouldering its primary responsibility for ecological and environmental protection. The company will steadfastly support Lüliang City in becoming a national model for the independent, commercial operation of hydrogen‑powered heavy‑duty trucks, striving to write a new chapter in Pengfei’s journey toward a green, low‑carbon transformation of the energy sector and toward a Shanxi region characterized by blue skies, clear waters, fresh air, and a pleasant environment.

China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing In June 2023, the sixth round of road freight fleet assessments was launched. Following self‑declaration by enterprises, data analysis, and expert review, a total of 41 road freight fleets were found to meet the required standards. This initiative aims to further enhance the organizational and intensive management of road freight operations, establish industry benchmarks, cultivate high‑quality transport capacity, and deliver efficient, compliant, safe, green, and smart high‑quality transportation services. It also provides valuable guidance for market‑oriented fleets seeking to expand their market presence, thereby supporting the development of a strong transportation sector and a robust logistics industry.
