On August 10, a fact-finding delegation led by Yang Qisen, Vice President of CATL’s battery-swap business unit, visited our city to engage in discussions and exchanges on deepening industrial collaboration, promoting new-energy heavy-duty trucks, and aligning related business strategies.

Feng Guangyuan, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of the Xiaoyi Economic Development Zone, along with Li Yingbin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee, attended.

As a leading enterprise in the new‑energy sector, CATL has amassed deep technological expertise and significant industrial advantages across key areas such as power batteries, battery‑swapping technologies, and electric‑drive systems. The inspection team visited Pengfei Zhichuang Industrial Park, the Pengwan Hydrogen Port Integrated Control Center, and the methanol‑to‑hydrogen thermal‑source plant, gaining an in‑depth understanding of our city’s hydrogen‑energy industry chain layout and development progress.

At the symposium, CATL and Pengfei Group engaged in in-depth discussions on expanding application scenarios for new‑energy heavy‑duty trucks and fostering industrial ecosystem collaboration. Both parties noted that CATL has amassed extensive expertise in power batteries and battery‑swapping technologies, while Pengfei has established a comprehensive hydrogen‑energy value chain spanning production, storage, transportation, refueling, and utilization—making their respective strengths highly complementary. They expressed hope to further strengthen communication and explore collaborative opportunities in these areas, injecting fresh momentum into the city’s new‑energy industry through mutually beneficial cooperation. Moving forward, the two sides will establish a regular coordination mechanism to enhance dialogue and advance concrete cooperation initiatives in a steady and pragmatic manner.

Feng Guangyuan stated that the Xiaoyi Economic Development Zone is currently implementing the strategic plans laid out at the city’s Eighth Party Congress, focusing on fostering and strengthening new‑type productive forces while deepening its expertise in four key areas: hydrogen energy, carbon‑based new materials, aluminum‑based new materials, and baijiu. The zone will seize opportunities in the new‑energy vehicle sector, actively advancing both hydrogen‑fuel and all‑electric technology pathways, and coordinating policy support, improving park infrastructure, and enhancing government services to ensure comprehensive resource provision and seamless project coordination across the entire value chain. At the same time, it will work in tandem to develop integrated energy islands and other supporting infrastructure and industrial facilities, providing high‑quality, end‑to‑end services to facilitate the successful implementation of collaborative projects and inject strong momentum into the city’s high‑quality development of the new‑energy industry.
