On September 19, the 2025 New Energy Vehicle Components Trade Fair grandly opened at the Hubei Shiyan International Convention and Exhibition Center. Liu Shijin, Vice Chairman of the Economic Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and former Deputy Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council, along with Huang Jianxiong, Secretary of the Shiyan Municipal Party Committee of Hubei Province, attended and addressed the event. Also in attendance were Hou Yunchun, former Deputy Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council and President of the China Enterprise Evaluation Association. Zheng Peng, Chairman of the Board and President of Pengfei Group, was invited to participate and deliver a speech.
Liu Shijin highly commended China’s new‑energy vehicle industry for its global leadership and its pivotal role in driving economic growth, while expressing great expectations for Shiyan’s efforts to upgrade its industrial chain and advance its internationalization.
Huang Jianxiong emphasized that Shiyan, as China’s “Capital of Commercial Vehicles,” boasts a robust industrial foundation and significant innovation strengths. He extended a warm welcome to businesses looking to invest and establish operations, affirming that the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government will spare no effort in providing high-quality services and a favorable development environment.
Zheng Peng stated that Pengfei Group aligns closely with national strategies, positioning hydrogen energy as a core pillar of its development. The company is committed to building a four‑dimensional, synergistic industrial ecosystem spanning the energy supply, refueling, manufacturing, and service sectors, and has successfully demonstrated the commercial viability and economic feasibility of hydrogen in medium- and long‑haul heavy‑load logistics.
At the event, 27 projects were signed in a集中 ceremony, covering areas such as complete vehicle trading, commercial vehicle trading, passenger vehicle trading, and parts‑and‑components trading.
That afternoon, six new hydrogen‑powered heavy‑duty trucks under Dongfeng Special Vehicle’s Zhizi brand made their debut at the Shiyan International Convention and Exhibition Center. These vehicles break new ground with a curb weight of just 9,980 kg, a hydrogen consumption as low as 7.5 kg per 100 km, and a range of up to 650 km—paired with ultra‑fast refueling in just 20 minutes—effectively alleviating range anxiety for medium- and long‑haul trunk‑line transport. Equipped with cutting‑edge technologies such as next‑generation electric drive axles and Type IV hydrogen storage tanks, these trucks not only set a new global benchmark for energy efficiency, range, and vehicle quality but also underscore China’s manufacturing prowess and leading position in the emerging field of hydrogen‑powered heavy‑duty trucks.
