On August 30, Wang Yubo, Deputy Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Yunnan Province, held a symposium in Beijing with Zheng Peng, Chairman of the Board of Pengfei Group. Also in attendance were Liu Hongjian, Member of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Kunming Municipal Party Committee, as well as Wang Zhengying, Vice Governor of Yunnan Province and Director of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, among other leaders.
Governor Wang Yubo said with deep emotion that anyone who comes to Yunnan is sure to be moved, and anyone who takes the first step will reap rewards. Yunnan is actively building itself into a major national clean‑energy hub, and the breakthroughs and achievements made by Pengfei Group in developing the hydrogen‑energy industry are truly admirable. The province warmly welcomes responsible, high‑caliber enterprises like Pengfei to come to Yunnan, seize the “opportunity called Yunnan,” share the “way of life called Yunnan,” engage in deep collaboration on industrial development, and achieve mutual empowerment through technological innovation. By forging a hydrogen‑energy corridor stretching from Shanxi to Yunnan, Yunnan can better transform its lush mountains and clear waters into tangible economic prosperity, aligning its development with that of these enterprises and advancing in concert, while also helping these companies grow stronger and more competitive.
Zheng Peng outlined Pengfei’s development journey, industrial layout, and future plans, noting that after more than 30 years of growth, the company has evolved into an integrated enterprise spanning coal‑coking chemical engineering, cultural tourism, hydrogen energy, zero‑carbon green logistics, and automobile manufacturing. In recent years, Pengfei has positioned the hydrogen‑energy sector as a key strategic priority for accelerating the development of new‑type productive forces, and has now established a comprehensive hydrogen‑energy industrial chain encompassing “production–refueling stations–transportation–vehicles.” From hydrogen supply to the manufacturing of heavy‑duty hydrogen‑powered trucks, Pengfei has reached a high degree of maturity. Looking ahead, the company will continue to refine and expand its hydrogen‑energy value chain, scaling up both its system and operational footprint.
