Under the lush greenery of Yuelu Mountain, the beautiful Xiang River ripples with emerald waves. On May 31, the Central China New Energy Industry Chain Promotion and Matchmaking Conference, hosted by the People’s Government of Shanxi Province and organized by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Commerce and the Shanxi Investment Promotion Bureau, was successfully held in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province. 
Shanxi Province Vice Governor Tang Zhiping, Xie Jianhui, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, along with representatives from relevant departments of the six central provinces, leading enterprises in the new‑energy sector, association representatives, foreign guests, and Zheng Peng, Chairman of the Board and President of Pengfei Group, attended the event. 
In his address, Shanxi Province Vice Governor Tang Zhiping noted that in recent years, Shanxi has achieved remarkable progress in accelerating the development of a new‑type energy system and promoting green energy growth. He emphasized that the province’s new‑energy sector boasts immense potential and a promising future. Mr. Tang extended a warm welcome to distinguished entrepreneurs and talented professionals, encouraging them to pay closer attention to Shanxi, come to the province, and invest deeply here, so as to share in the new opportunities presented by low‑carbon development. He expressed hope that collaboration across the industry chain—both upstream and downstream—will be further strengthened, that joint efforts to build science‑and‑technology talent teams will be deepened, and that financing and construction of key projects will be bolstered. Shanxi will continue to optimize its business environment, providing high‑quality support for enterprises and talent to thrive in the region, fostering mutual empowerment and jointly writing a new chapter in the rise of central China. 
Xie Jianhui, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress and head of the new‑energy industry chain, emphasized that Shanxi’s experiences and practices in pursuing high‑quality development offer valuable lessons for Hunan’s new‑energy sector. He noted that Shanxi and Hunan each boast distinctive strengths—ranging from factor endowments and industrial structures to innovation resources—creating complementary advantages and vast potential for cooperation. He expressed his anticipation of working with leading enterprises in Shanxi to identify new avenues for collaboration, explore innovative application scenarios, and deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two provinces in the new‑energy field, thereby giving green momentum to the development of advanced manufacturing and jointly ushering in a new chapter of high‑quality growth for both Shanxi and Hunan. 
Zheng Peng, Chairman of the Board and President of Pengfei Group, took the lead in speaking as a representative of key enterprises in Shanxi’s new‑energy industrial chain. He outlined Pengfei’s hydrogen‑energy development plan, highlighted its innovative achievements and flagship projects, and extended a warm invitation: Shanxi—boasting the nation’s most competitive hydrogen prices, the country’s largest hydrogen‑energy application hub, and the best business‑friendly environment for start-ups—welcomes investment from across the country; Pengfei Hydrogen Energy, the world’s largest operation with the most comprehensive industrial chain and cutting‑edge technologies and equipment, invites all interested parties to join; and the entire Pengfei team—driven by passion, innovation, pragmatism, and leadership—invites everyone to come to Shanxi, to Lüliang, to Xiaoyi, and to Pengfei itself. Zheng Peng stated that Pengfei will persevere with unwavering determination and forge ahead, blazing a new trail for the zero‑carbon transformation of traditional energy industries and cultivating a new hydrogen‑energy‑based economy worth trillions of yuan. He expressed his anticipation of working together—with research, finance, industry, and the media converging—to accelerate the emergence of a new, high‑quality productive force in the hydrogen sector, thereby advancing the rise of the central region from an even higher starting point, and contributing to China’s energy revolution and high‑quality development.
Following the meeting, representatives from dozens of participating companies, including Shanghai Electric and CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd., proactively engaged in on-site discussions with Pengfei, expressing their interest and willingness to visit Shanxi, tour Pengfei’s facilities, and explore opportunities for collaboration and investment.
