At the cusp of spring and summer, all things burst into vigorous growth. On April 29, the 2024 Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Green Development Forum, themed “Implementing the ‘Dual Carbon’ Initiative and Building a Beautiful China,” was held in Beijing. Attending the opening ceremony were Cui Shixin, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of People’s Daily; Tian Wenbiao, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Natural Resources; Wang Peng, Director-General of the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Resource Utilization of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Xia Yingxian, Director-General of the Department of Climate Change Response of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment; Niu Bo, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of the National Development and Reform Commission; Chen Ming, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Basic Research of the Ministry of Science and Technology; Wang Yang, Deputy Director-General of the Social Responsibility Bureau of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council; along with guests from various sectors. Zheng Zihao, Vice President of Pengfei Group, attended the forum and shared an exemplary case study, engaging in in-depth discussions with representatives of government authorities, corporate leaders, and academic experts to jointly explore new pathways for green and low-carbon development and share innovative experiences and achievements in the “dual carbon” initiative.

Zheng Zihao shared Pengfei’s practical achievements in building a green hydrogen‑based industrial chain, noting that the company has consistently aligned itself with major national strategies and policy directions by planning and developing the Pengwan Hydrogen Port Industrial Park—the largest of its kind globally, boasting the most comprehensive industrial chain and cutting‑edge process technologies and equipment. At present, Pengfei’s operational model for hydrogen‑powered heavy‑duty trucks has become the nation’s best and only fully commercialized application scenario. On April 22, Pengfei secured the largest-ever order in the history of hydrogen fuel‑cell semi‑trailer tractors: a project to deliver 500 49‑ton hydrogen‑powered heavy trucks to Qian’an City, Hebei Province, setting a new record in the hydrogen fuel‑cell vehicle industry.

Zheng Zihao stated that Pengfei has established a large logistics company operating 10,000 hydrogen‑powered heavy‑truck fleets. The company has independently developed and operates a nationwide, zero‑carbon smart logistics technology platform that addresses every stage of the logistics lifecycle—ranging from vehicle ownership and cargo sourcing to efficient dispatch, energy supply, payment upon delivery, and vehicle disposal—for both partner logistics firms and its own in‑house customers, thereby enabling “express ride‑hailing” for bulk materials. Piloted by Dahuatong Logistics, the platform is gradually transitioning to market‑driven, commercial operations. Zero‑carbon smart logistics will become another strategic pillar of Pengfei’s business.

Focusing on new‑type productive forces, Pengfei is proactively embracing innovation and transformation to bolster new drivers of growth. Zheng Zihao also shared new ideas, concepts, and achievements in Pengfei’s digital and intelligent transformation. Looking ahead, Pengfei will remain committed to five strategic pillars—project development, technological innovation, brand promotion, open cooperation, and service expansion—steadfastly pursuing a development path that is high‑end, differentiated, intensive, green, circular, environmentally friendly, and internationally collaborative; one that is both competitive and distinctive. In advancing the green and low‑carbon transformation of energy enterprises, Pengfei aims to set yet another exemplary case.
