Gathering at Pengfei, Benchmarking and Learning | The province’s first “Learn from the Best, Benchmark Against Leaders” event on the industrial internet has kicked off.

At the cusp of spring and summer, all things burst into vigorous growth. To thoroughly implement the spirit of the National and Shanxi Provincial Conferences on Promoting New‑Type Industrialization, with a focus on Shanxi Province’s “1231” plan for revitalizing and upgrading the manufacturing sector, and to accelerate the integration of digital and physical systems and the empowerment of digital intelligence, the first event of the 2024 provincial industrial internet initiative—“Learn from the Best, Benchmark Against Leaders”—was successfully launched on April 26 at Pengfei, organized by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology.

Yan Lin, Vice Mayor of Lüliang City; Liu Yong, Deputy Director of the Shanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology; Wang Qianli, Deputy Director of the Shanxi Provincial Telecommunications Administration; Xue Zhiqiang, Vice Mayor of Xiaoyi City; and Wu Jianfei, Chief Advisor of Pengfei Group, attended the event. More than 100 participants—including representatives from the Shanxi Comprehensive Reform Pilot Zone Management Committee, the industrial and information technology bureaus of various cities, the Provincial Digital Transformation Promotion Center, the Provincial Informationization Association, basic telecommunications enterprises, as well as leaders and key technical personnel from coking enterprises and other priority companies across the province—were in attendance.

In his address, Yan Lin stated that Lüliang City now has 72 digital enterprises, with nine—led by Pengfei—having obtained national certification and achieving a series of exemplary applications across various industrial sectors, thereby further enhancing the quality and value of the city’s high‑quality industrial development. He expressed the hope that cities and enterprises nationwide will actively share cutting‑edge ideas and best practices, offering guidance to help Lüliang better advance the construction of the industrial internet, strengthen its industrial capabilities, and chart a new path toward digitalization, networking, and intelligent development through the integration of digital and physical systems and the empowerment of digital technologies.

Liu Yong pointed out that adopting a higher‑level perspective to understand and apply the industrial internet is an essential survival challenge for manufacturing enterprises as they seek to hedge industry risks and enhance their market competitiveness. As a leading enterprise in the hydrogen energy industrial chain of our province’s second batch, Pengfei has steadily advanced its digital and intelligent transformation and upgrading in recent years. It has successively been recognized with numerous accolades, including the MIIT’s Industrial Internet Pilot Demonstration and the Demonstration Project for the Integrated Development of Next-Generation Information Technology and Manufacturing, accumulating a wealth of experience and best practices that are well worth sharing and building upon. We hope that Pengfei’s inaugural event will serve as a pilot, fully demonstrating the event’s model and impact, while all relevant officials diligently implement related initiatives in their respective regions, jointly achieving new milestones in the fields of informationization and industrial internet development.

Wang Qianli stated that the Provincial Telecommunications Administration, in collaboration with the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, will support and accelerate the development of the industrial internet across the province. He called on the industry to respond enthusiastically, jointly advancing 5G‑plus‑industrial‑internet initiatives to broader applications, deeper integration, and higher standards, thereby contributing to Shanxi’s efforts to implement Chinese‑style modernization and achieving further successes and new accomplishments.

Wu Jianfei shared in detail Pengfei’s extensive experience in industrial Internet development and digital transformation across six key areas—smart mines, smart factories, intelligent safety and environmental monitoring, smart logistics, and more. He emphasized that Pengfei will always regard national strategy as its paramount priority and follow the pace of the times as its guiding direction, persevering with unwavering commitment to shoulder significant responsibilities. On the new journey of Chinese‑style modernization and the advancement of new‑type productive forces, Pengfei will fully leverage the digital empowerment of the industrial Internet to inject fresh momentum into the high‑quality development of the manufacturing sector.

The head of Pengfei’s Digital Intelligence Center shared insights into specific application scenarios across the product series. Attendees actively engaged and enthusiastically posed questions, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere at the event.

Over the years, Pengfei has steadfastly pursued the modernization of traditional industries and the high-end upgrading of emerging sectors, closely aligning with both international and domestic trends in digital transformation. By continuously advancing the intelligent application of industrial technologies, the company has achieved remarkable results. In 2022, it was recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as Shanxi’s first enterprise to obtain DCMM certification and earned the industry’s highest-level 3A rating for integration of informatization and industrialization. In 2023, it was designated an Industrial Internet Demonstration Enterprise by the Ministry, and in 2024, it was named a Demonstration Enterprise for the Integrated Development of Next-Generation Information Technology and Manufacturing. Furthermore, its three subsidiaries—Pengfei Coking, Methanol Production, and Zhengwang Hydrogen Production—were awarded the title of Shanxi Province’s Smart Manufacturing Demonstration Benchmarks, cementing Pengfei’s position as a leading exemplar of digital transformation in the industry.
