Leaders from the Lüliang Municipal Science and Technology Bureau visited Pengfei to promote the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.
On the afternoon of October 7, Li Yongsheng, Party Secretary of the Lüliang Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, led a delegation to Pengfei to conduct an on-site inspection of the progress of the 2022 Lüliang Municipal Industry‑University‑Local Cooperation Special Project for Technological Guidance. Wei Sanping, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Lüliang Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, along with Guo Jianhong, Director of the Xiaoyi Municipal Education and Science and Technology Bureau, also attended the visit. Zheng Peng, Chairman of the Board and President of Pengfei Group, extended a warm welcome.

The two special projects under the 2022 Lüliang City Industry–University–Research Collaboration Program in which Pengfei is involved are: a project on process intensification and pilot-scale scale-up for hydrogenation‑modified low‑rank coal to produce coking coal, conducted in collaboration with Taiyuan University of Technology and Shanxi University; and a project on the development and application of on‑board Type IV high‑pressure storage vessels, carried out in partnership with Taiyuan University of Technology and Taiyuan University of Science and Technology. At the meeting, the project leaders reported on the progress of each initiative, covering research background, research scope, innovative outcomes, foundational work, and anticipated benefits.
Ma Xiaolong, Assistant to the President and General Manager of the Hydrogen Energy Business Unit at Pengfei Group, reported on the company’s efforts in technological innovation and the commercialization of research outcomes, including the establishment of pilot-scale test facilities and technology-transfer platforms, investment in R&D projects, and collaborative initiatives with universities such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, North China University of Science and Technology, and Taiyuan University of Technology, all aimed at advancing the application of scientific and technological advances.

Zheng Peng expressed his sincere gratitude to the Science and Technology Bureau of Lüliang City and the Education and Science and Technology Bureau of Xiaoyi City for their longstanding support and assistance to Pengfei’s research and innovation initiatives. He emphasized that the faster Pengfei grows, the more keenly he recognizes the importance and urgency of technological innovation and talent development. In recent years, Pengfei has embraced diverse perspectives and fostered an open dialogue, inviting leading industry experts and scholars to undertake numerous research projects and tackle key technological challenges, achieving significant interim results. Looking ahead, Pengfei will continue to refine and strengthen its science and technology endeavors, pressing forward with breakthroughs in domestically pioneering and internationally cutting-edge technologies, thereby leveraging innovation to drive corporate growth.

Li Yongsheng fully commended Pengfei for pioneering new pathways in hydrogen‑powered heavy‑duty trucks, the deployment of hydrogen refueling stations, and the practical application of innovative breakthroughs across the hydrogen energy industry chain. He particularly underscored the vital role of the real economy in Lüliang’s economic development. He urged the science and technology authorities to devote themselves wholeheartedly to supporting the growth of the real economy, precisely aligning with enterprise needs and delivering services that are both efficient and empathetic, thereby fostering greater university–enterprise collaboration and the successful commercialization of scientific and technological advances. Meanwhile, enterprises were called upon to assume their central role in innovation, continuously advancing technological iteration and application, transforming their innovative capacity into a driving force for development, and accelerating in-depth, substantive cooperation among universities, local governments, and businesses. In key projects such as hydrogen energy, they should work together to tackle critical challenges, jointly helping Lüliang transition from a “coal capital” to a “hydrogen capital” and contributing to the region’s high‑quality economic and social development.
