On September 4, Chen Jinhong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Tianjin Binhai High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, led heads from the Zone’s Financial Investment Bureau and New Energy Industry Bureau to Pengfei for a symposium and exchange. Zheng Peng, Chairman of the Board and President of Pengfei Group, extended a warm welcome.

Chen Jinhong outlined the High-tech Zone’s key characteristics, covering its geographic location and transportation infrastructure, development statistics, industrial layout, and business environment. He placed particular emphasis on the current state of emerging‑energy industries such as lithium‑ion batteries, photovoltaics, and wind power. He noted that the High-tech Zone boasts advantages in knowledge‑intensity and capital‑intensity, and attaches great importance to the development of the hydrogen energy sector. Moving forward, the zone will focus on areas including fuel cells, core materials, hydrogen‑production equipment, and specialized vehicles, with a strategic emphasis on building out the hydrogen‑energy value chain.

Zheng Peng outlined Pengfei’s strategic layout and future plans for the hydrogen energy industry, highlighting the significant role that Pengfei’s hydrogen‑powered heavy‑duty trucks play in improving air quality and advancing the “dual carbon” goals. He noted that, with the care and support of Party committees and governments at all levels in Shanxi Province and from all sectors of society, Pengfei has achieved demonstration operations across the entire hydrogen‑energy value chain—covering production, storage, transportation, refueling, application, and research—and will continue to explore pathways for the industry’s development. The company will accelerate breakthroughs in key technologies for next‑generation energy storage and in green hydrogen production, storage, and utilization, thereby driving the sustained and healthy growth of the hydrogen energy sector.
At the meeting, officials from the Tianjin High-Tech Zone’s Financial Investment Bureau, New Energy Industry Bureau, and the Tianjin Branch of the Agricultural Bank of China also highlighted the zone’s business‑friendly advantages in talent recruitment, education, healthcare, and finance, as well as its distinctive service features, including one‑stop administrative processing and streamlined, end-to-end service workflows.
