The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was solemnly convened in Beijing on October 16, 2022. Held at a pivotal moment as the entire Party and all the people of China embark on a new journey toward fully building a modern socialist country and march toward the Second Centenary Goal, this is an exceptionally important congress that will scientifically formulate the goals, tasks, and major policies for the development of the Party and the country over the next five years and beyond. It bears on the continuation and advancement of the cause of the Party and the country, on the future and destiny of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and on the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and it carries profound significance for uniting and inspiring all the people of China to strive for new victories in socialism with Chinese characteristics.

To comprehensively study and deeply understand the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and to further advance the Group’s all‑round, high‑quality development, at 10:00 a.m. on October 16, 2022, the Party Committee of Pengfei Group organized all cadres and employees to watch the opening session of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

Employees of Pengfei Group’s headquarters, the Pengfei Coking Plant, the Methanol Plant, the Xinyu Coking Plant, the Pengfei Youyi Grand Hotel, Qinhé No. 7 Mine—Factory No. 1, Majunyu Company and its Fourth Mine, Huineng Coal Industry, and Dongfeng Teke all watched the event simultaneously in their respective multi‑purpose halls and conference rooms. Zheng Peng, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board, and President of Pengfei Group, along with heads of various business units and departmental leaders, attended the event. Employees unable to gather for the broadcast were encouraged to watch the live stream on the CCTV video platform on their own.

Chairman Zheng Peng: For private enterprises, listening to the report of the 20th National Congress has, in fact, strengthened our confidence. First, the General Secretary’s unequivocal commitment to supporting the development of the non-public sector has provided foundational support and a decisive boost to the private economy. Second, looking ahead to the next five years, our strategic goal is to comprehensively build a modern socialist country. As for private enterprises, how can we make steady progress on this new frontier and in these emerging tracks? We are firmly focused on the industrial layout of the hydrogen energy sector and on the clean‑energy utilization of coal—areas where Pengfei can leverage its strengths, providing a powerful guiding framework to ensure the efficient and sustainable use of coal. Meanwhile, in the hydrogen energy industry, this new track will enable us to move faster and achieve even better results.

This September, the Communist Party of China Committee of Shanxi Pengfei Group Co., Ltd. was officially established, marking the formal elevation of the group’s Party organization from a general branch to a Party committee. The first Party Members’ Congress of the Communist Party of China Committee of Shanxi Pengfei Group Co., Ltd. was also convened, signaling that the group’s Party-building work has entered a new stage of development!

This month, Pengfei Group will also launch a series of activities under the theme “Warmly Welcoming the Convening of the 20th National Congress and Putting Its Spirit into Practice,” including: the unveiling ceremony of the Group’s Party‑building system; the organization of training sessions on the Party‑building framework; a large-scale study symposium titled “Studying the 20th National Congress—Pengfei Takes the Lead”; invited expert lectures providing in-depth interpretations of the spirit of the 20th National Congress; the production of a special documentary on the Group’s Party‑building efforts; and the implementation of the “Party Building Plus” working model.

Better publicize the spirit of the 20th National Congress, study its various Party and government guidelines and policies, and spark a wave of learning and discussion on the Congress’s guiding principles throughout the entire Group.
