On the afternoon of August 22, Hu Yajuan, Executive Director of the Investment Department of the National Green Development Fund, and Bai Yunfei, Deputy General Manager of Hydrogen Morning Technology, led a delegation to visit and conduct a research tour at Pengfei Group. Ma Xiaolong, Assistant to the President of Shanxi Pengfei Group, accompanied the group, while Zheng Peng, Chairman of the Board and President of the Group, attended the exchange symposium.
Lüliang City is the nation’s largest base for coking coal and the coking industry. As a key player in the hydrogen‑energy value chain, Pengfei Group will focus on heavy‑duty trucks and collaborate with Hydrogen Morning Technology to help build Lüliang’s hydrogen‑energy industrial development framework of “one core, two wings, three ports, and four chains.”
Hu Yajuan, Executive Director of the Investment Department at the National Green Development Fund
At the outset of the meeting, Hu Yajuan provided a brief overview of the National Green Development Fund. She noted that, as an investor in Hydrogen Morning Technology, the Fund had visited Pengfei Group to: first, gain insights into the future directions of collaboration between Hydrogen Morning and Pengfei; and second, explore potential avenues for cooperation with the group.
Zheng Peng, Chairman of the Board and President of Shanxi Pengfei Group
Chairman Zheng Peng and Hu Yajuan discussed the advantages of Pengfei Group’s strategic positioning within the hydrogen‑energy industry chain. They noted that the domestic hydrogen‑energy sector currently faces a bottleneck in application scenarios—particularly in transportation—which hinders industrial clustering and the consolidation of enterprises. With Pengfei Group’s initiatives in hydrogen‑powered heavy‑duty trucks, this challenge can be effectively addressed. They emphasized that the group will transform previously perceived constraints into key competitive strengths. By leveraging its established coal‑coking industry expertise and applying it to the development of hydrogen‑fuel‑cell logistics trucks, Pengfei aims to integrate these two advantages into a singular, overarching competitive edge. At present, Pengfei Group has completed the foundational layout of its entire hydrogen‑energy value chain; the company is now entering the phase of implementation and scaling. Through talent attraction and technological innovation, Pengfei Group will contribute to the nation’s dual‑carbon goals.
Prior to the meeting, Hu Yajuan and her delegation also visited the Pengfei Coking Plant, the Methanol Plant, the Pengwan Hydrogen Port Central Control Center, the Beiyao Hydrogen Refueling Energy Island, and the 5G+ Central Dispatch and Command Management Platform, among other sites. A site visit.
