At 9:00 a.m. on July 15, Pengfei Group held its 2022 mid-year work summary and second-half work‑plan conference in grand style. Zheng Peng, Chairman of the Board and President of Pengfei Group, together with heads of all business units, entered the venue to warm applause. Leaders from regional companies, factories, mines, and departments, along with employee representatives, gathered in person, while delegates from sub‑venues—including Qinhé Energy, Majunyu Company, Huineng Coal Industry, and Dongfeng Teke—participated via video link.
As the spirited company anthem resounded, the entire audience rose to their feet and joined in singing, officially opening the conference. The meeting began with a briefing on the Group’s summary of the first-half sanitation cleanup efforts, an assessment of the implementation of the Pengfei Spirit, and an update on Dongfeng Teke’s operations. Feng Chunhua, General Manager of the Profit Management Center, then presented the Group’s business performance for the first half of the year and provided an overview of the “Ten Major Productive Forces” initiative.
Amid rousing music, the conference solemnly commended a group of outstanding units that emerged in the first half of 2022: Yong’an Coal Mine, Houcun Coal Mine, Zhongcun Coal Mine, Yonghong Coal Mine, Shuguang Coal Mine, the Methanol‑Co‑Produced LNG Heat Source Plant, the Fourth Marketing Division, and the Third Marketing Division. These units achieved remarkable results in performance metrics, target fulfillment, comprehensive sanitation campaigns, and the practical application of the Pengfei spirit, setting exemplary standards for all units within the Group. Chairman Zheng Peng presented plaques to the representatives of the honored units, as warm applause filled the venue and continued unabated.
The award-winning representatives, in their experience-sharing sessions, unanimously emphasized that honors belong to the past, and the road ahead is long and arduous. They pledged to uphold higher standards and stricter requirements, work diligently, and forge ahead with courage, contributing all their wisdom and strength to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pengfei Group. Meanwhile, eight underperforming units also delivered statements, outlining the root causes of their shortcomings, the corrective measures they will implement, and the strategies they plan to adopt for improvement.
During the afternoon session, the heads of each system reviewed the 2022年初 target‑based plan, reported on the progress achieved in the first half of the year, identified existing challenges, outlined a list of unfinished tasks, formulated effective measures for improvement, and presented their work plans for the second half.
Chairman Zheng Peng led the team in reviewing and summarizing the Group’s encouraging achievements in the first half of the year, driven by the Pengfei Spirit. These accomplishments encompassed ten key areas of productivity, enhanced talent recruitment, strengthening the survival baseline while advancing growth initiatives, promoting management transformation, and rigorously implementing epidemic prevention and control measures. At the same time, he highlighted existing shortcomings across various units—particularly in talent development and upskilling, technical expertise enhancement, and information analysis and decision‑making. He urged all units to redouble their efforts in the second half of the year, focusing on talent acquisition and training, as well as on precise and informed data analysis and strategic assessment.
Chairman Zheng Peng highlighted a series of issues identified during the first half of the year as the comprehensive sanitation campaign was steadily advanced. Citing hotels, coal mines, and property management companies as examples, he pointed out shortcomings in how certain entities have implemented this initiative, urging the relevant units to be guided by the Pengfei spirit and to fully leverage their role as leading enterprises.
The harder you work, the luckier you get; the more you put your heart into it, the easier both work and study become. Chairman Zheng Peng shared how dedication, diligence, and unwavering integrity have brought substantial benefits to the Group, and he illustrated with concrete examples the critical importance of team unity, urging all departments, regional subsidiaries, and factory‑mine units to truly harness the power of solidarity.
In the second half of the year, safety remains a top priority for the Group. Chairman Zheng Peng has emphasized the need to maintain a constant sense of vigilance—“never feeling fully at ease”—to firmly safeguard safety and make safety an integral part of everyday operations.
During his address, Chairman Zheng Peng drew on timeless wisdom—such as “act by doing nothing, handle affairs without fuss, and savor the taste of the unremarkable,” “see the big picture in the small details, and discern the end from the beginning,” and “good governance”—to inspire everyone to strive for excellence and deliver outstanding results in the second half of the year, with the aim of achieving the 14th Five-Year Plan’s goal of “trillion‑yuan assets and ten‑billion‑yuan profits” by year’s end.
Chairman Zheng Peng stated: “Unity is paramount—let’s strengthen it. Addressing our weaknesses is equally critical—let’s integrate learning into our work and make work a form of learning. Safety is the bottom line. In the second half of the year, we must stay firmly focused on our goals and zero in on our weak areas. As long as we persevere, I believe it won’t just be a promising future—we’ll be able to achieve the objectives set out in the 14th Five-Year Plan by the end of this year.”
