The provincial research team for demonstration bases of mass entrepreneurship and innovation conducted a field visit to Pengfei Group.

On June 23, a provincial-level research team on demonstration bases for innovation and entrepreneurship, led by Yang Yu, Director of the Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Rule-of-Law Research at Shanxi University of Finance and Economics, visited our city to assess and provide guidance on the development of the Xiaoyi City innovation and entrepreneurship base. The team also conducted an on-site inspection of the progress of the Pengfei Group’s innovation project. Leaders from the Lüliang Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Xiaoyi Municipal Government, and the local Development and Reform Bureau accompanied the delegation.

The research delegation visited, in succession, Pengfei’s 5G+ Central Dispatch and Command Management Platform, the Pengwan Hydrogen Port Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park project site, and the Pengfei Beiyao Integrated Hydrogen Refueling Station.

At the Pengwan Hydrogen Port Integrated Control Center, the research delegation listened to a briefing on the basic overview of Pengfei’s hydrogen energy industry project, reviewed the Pengfei Group’s corporate brochure, and expressed keen interest in the pioneering hydrogen‑production technology route using coke‑oven gas that Pengfei has pioneered.

At the Beiyao Integrated Hydrogen Refueling Energy Station, the research team inquired in detail about the station’s construction progress and gained a comprehensive understanding of Pengfei’s full‑industry development chain spanning coal, coke, chemicals, and hydrogen energy. Xue Zhiqiang, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Xiaoyi Municipal Government, raised questions regarding Pengfei’s technological roadmap for its fine‑chemicals sector and whether the existing coke oven gas meets the requirements for hydrogen production. Suo Shengfu, the project director of the Pengwan Hydrogen Port Hydrogen Industry Park, provided an overview of the specific circumstances.

In addition to assessing the status of hydrogen-energy industry projects, the research team also conducted a survey on Pengfei’s efforts in cultivating innovative talent and on the transformation and upgrading of its traditional manufacturing sector.
