According to reports, to foster the hydrogen energy industry, Lüliang City has adopted an overarching strategy and development goals centered on “one core, two wings, three ports, and four industrial chains.” The Pengfei Pengwan Hydrogen Port project is a key component of this “two-wing” framework.
On May 9, a research team led by Wang Fugui, Deputy Director of the Political Research Office of the Lüliang Municipal Party Committee, conducted an on-site inspection of the Pengfei Hydrogen Port project. Zheng Peng, Chairman of the Board and President of Pengfei Group, received the delegation and provided an overview of the project.
According to reports, to foster the hydrogen energy industry, Lüliang City has established an overarching strategy and development goals centered on “one core, two wings, three ports, and four industrial chains.” The Pengfei Pengwan Hydrogen Port project is a key component of this “two-wing” framework.
Earlier, as construction of the Pengwan Hydrogen Port project was in full swing, the Bei Yao and Jin Gangwan hydrogen refueling integrated energy stations—key components of its storage and transportation infrastructure—were completed on schedule on March 31. This milestone marks the project’s ability to connect ahead of time with the energy‑demand market, further embedding the widespread adoption of clean energy across society.
At the project site, Chairman Zheng Peng provided a detailed overview of the industrial‑chain clusters that the project is expected to catalyze, with particular emphasis on the subsequent production of hydrogen‑powered heavy‑duty trucks and a wide range of application scenarios. He also noted that the Lüliang Municipal Government is currently exploring ways to bring a larger‑scale water electrolysis‑based hydrogen‑production project to Pengfei, aiming to establish Lüliang as a hub for hydrogen supply, technological R&D, and equipment manufacturing.
Wang Fugui highly commended the project’s pivotal role in empowering the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and sought detailed information on issues such as deployment and application costs.
During the field visit, Chairman Zheng Peng also outlined the project’s prospects for participating in carbon trading, noting that this would represent a revolutionary shift across the entire energy sector.
Wang Fugui stated that the Lüliang Municipal Research Office is currently drafting a report titled “Comprehensive, High-Quality Development of Lüliang City” for submission to the Provincial Party Committee. Following the conclusion of the field research, the Pengwan Hydrogen Port project will be systematically summarized and presented in the report, with the aim of securing stronger support from both the Provincial and Municipal Party Committees.
