On February 25, Pengfei Coking Plant fully launched its unmanned operation system, achieving end-to-end automated control across the entire process—from the gatehouse to the coke yard. As of today, the system has been online for nearly two months. To see what kind of service experience this rollout has truly delivered to our driver colleagues, let’s take a look.
Recently, a Pengfei reporter conducted an in-depth follow-up report on the plant’s unmanned operation system. This was not the first time our reporters had visited Pengfei Coking Plant for coverage, but it was certainly the most memorable.
(The reporter accompanied the driver into the plant to learn about the entry procedure under unmanned operation.)
The deployment of an unattended system not only enables remote guidance and contactless service, but also leverages intelligent technologies to comprehensively address numerous inefficiencies in logistics transportation and loading/unloading operations.
Q: With unmanned control, which on-site positions have been eliminated, and what functions have been realized? What potential hazards have been mitigated?
Li Jianjun, Captain Pengfei of the Security Department: In the past, security personnel had frequent interactions with drivers, which could give rise to certain integrity risks. With the implementation of the unmanned duty system, services are now delivered without face-to-face contact—moving from on-site operations to back‑office management—effectively curbing occupational corruption. Previously, our security work was traditionally exposed to the elements; today, we are committed to building a highly professional, rigorously disciplined “Pengfei Smart Security Iron Army.”
Hou Dabiao, Director of the Coal Preparation Workshop at Pengfei Coking Plant: With the system now in operation, the workshop has recruited three university graduates, enhancing its workforce’s overall competence and boosting loading efficiency within the coke sheds. Transitioning from on-site card swiping to back-end processing has effectively eliminated safety hazards, and, most importantly, has helped prevent instances of corruption and unethical conduct in the coal preparation department.
From the shop floor to dispatch, from automation to full unmanned operation—our commitment to “cleanliness” extends throughout, purifying not only the factory’s appearance but also eliminating on-site safety hazards and eradicating corruption. This is the essence of a clean, unattended system that elevates service to an even higher standard. As we steadily advance toward building smart, digital factories, we are also demonstrating through concrete actions our promise to every partner: Pengfei Group will wholeheartedly deliver pure, efficient, and high‑quality services, working together to forge a brilliant future of exceptional quality.
