On June 27, the Forum on the CPC’s Leadership in the Development of the Private Economy, themed “Stay True to Our Original Aspiration and Honor the Party’s Kindness; Forge Ahead and Follow the Party,” was solemnly held at Shanxi Pengfei Industrial Group.

Under the guidance of the Lüliang Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Lüliang Municipal Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Service Center, the forum was hosted by the General Branch Committee of the CPC at Shanxi Pengfei Industrial Group, with co‑sponsorship from the Lüliang Private Entrepreneurs Association and the Lüliang Coking Industry Association. It brought together a total of 160 participants, including leaders and experts from central, provincial, prefectural, and municipal levels, as well as representatives from various private enterprises and mid‑to‑senior‑level executives of Pengfei Group, for discussions and exchanges.

This forum was held in Xiaoyi, the only county-level city in the province to have ranked among China’s top 100 for 13 consecutive years. Hosted by Pengfei Group—recognized for two consecutive years as one of the Top 500 Private Enterprises nationwide—the event underscores the group’s deep concern for and strong commitment to the cause of private-sector economic development under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. It also reflects Pengfei Group’s unwavering confidence and determination, forged over 28 years of steadfastly following the Party and uniting all forces to pursue growth.

The meeting opened to the sound of the national anthem. Liang Zhiyong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Lüliang Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Xiaoyi Municipal Party Committee, delivered a welcome address, followed by remarks from Zheng Peng, Vice Chairman of the Lüliang Federation of Industry and Commerce, President of the Lüliang Private Entrepreneurs Association, President of the Lüliang Coking Industry Association, and Chairman of the Board and President of Shanxi Pengfei Group.

Liang Zhiyong stated that the private sector accounts for more than 85% of the city’s GDP, with 100% coverage of Party organizations among private enterprises, and that “star‑leading” companies such as Pengfei Group have emerged. He expressed hope that this forum would draw from the century‑long history of the Party a powerful impetus to propel the private sector toward sustained, high‑quality, and rapid development in the new era, ensuring its healthy growth in the right direction. He also urged all leaders and experts to offer guidance and share their expertise to foster the development of the private sector in Lüliang and Xiaoyi. The government will continue to strengthen and improve the Party’s leadership over the private sector, steadfastly supporting private enterprises in expanding their scale, enhancing their quality, and bolstering their competitiveness.

Zheng Peng extended a warm welcome to the leaders, experts, entrepreneurs, and media representatives in attendance, stating that private enterprises will continue to take the Party’s leadership as their guiding beacon, firmly steer the course of progress; use Party building as the driving force to chart the right path for development; and draw on the Party’s support to invigorate their spirit of striving. He pledged that these enterprises will strive to become noble entities imbued with gratitude toward the Party, a sense of national responsibility, and a deep commitment to the nation, and that they will, with high quality, further expand, strengthen, and elevate their remarkable contributions to China’s land.

The forum invited experts and scholars, including Zhuang Congsheng—Member of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, specially appointed expert in the CPPCC National Committee’s Talent Pool for Participating in State Affairs, former Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and former President of the China Private Economy Research Association—and Zhou Wenzhang—Member of the 12th National Committee of the CPPCC, former Vice President of the Central Party School (National Academy of Administration), professor, and doctoral supervisor—to deliver keynote speeches on topics such as “The CPC’s Leadership in the Development of the Private Economy,” “Enabling the Private Sector to Step onto a Broader Stage,” and “The Impact of Higher Education and Basic Research on Original Innovation.”

Experts and scholars vividly recounted the successes and setbacks of the private sector’s development, guided participants through a review of the Party’s leadership over its evolution, and distilled the opportunities and challenges of the new era while offering insights into future trends in the private sector. They urged private enterprises to uphold the Party’s correct leadership, break free from conventional thinking, proactively embrace the opportunities and challenges of the new era, and steadily advance high-quality development of the private sector.

Following the presentations, two expert panels—each composed of scholars and specialists from various universities—engaged in high-level dialogues on two themes: “The CPC Encourages, Supports, and Guides the Development of the Private Sector” and “Private Enterprises Heed the Party’s Guidance, Follow Its Leadership, and Revitalize the Nation through Industry.” From the Civil Code to the “Six New” policies, from economic systems to government–business relations, and from landmark cases to the tangible experiences of Pengfei, the discussions throughout underscored the private sector’s indispensable role in the past and its vast potential for the future.

Today, China’s private sector plays a pivotal role in economic and social development and has become a key driver of regional economic growth. The successful convening of this forum has established an important platform for the sound development of the private sector, serving as a shining emblem of its contributions to policy advice and support for economic and social progress in the new era.

In the evening, forum participants attended a special gala hosted by Pengfei Group to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, titled “Welcoming July 1st, Praising the Party’s Kindness,” along with the awards ceremony for the “Two Excellences and One Pioneer” honors. On the morning of June 28, they toured Pengfei’s 5G+ Central Dispatch and Command Management Platform.
