Let Youth Shine Brilliantly Through Striving — Pengfei Sports and Arts Athletes Set Out for the Cultural and Sports Competitions of the 8th Wutong Culture and Arts Festival

On May 19, the eighth “Vibrant Wutong, Charming New District” Cultural and Arts Festival in Wutong Town kicked off.

Wang Xiuxia, a member of the Standing Committee of the Xiaoyi Municipal Party Committee and Head of the Publicity Department, and Gao Dawang, Vice Chairman of the Lüliang Senior Citizens’ Association and President of the Xiaoyi Senior Citizens’ Association, attended the event. Athletes from Pengfei Culture, Sports and Fitness represented the Pengfei Group, allowing their youth to shine brightly through dedication and hard work.

During the cultural festival, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, Wutong Town organized a series of events, including speech contests and choral competitions under the theme “Study Party History, Feel Gratitude to the Party, Follow the Party,” paying heartfelt tribute to the Party’s glorious history and enthusiastically praising its remarkable achievements. In addition, the town hosted popular, highly interactive activities such as square dancing and sports competitions.

With the organization and strong support of the Pengfei Trade Union Federation, the Pengfei delegation participated in a total of six competitions, including sports events such as table tennis, badminton, and Chinese chess, as well as cultural programs like traditional opera and choral singing.

At the badminton match, with long rallies and short drop shots, deflections to the left and smashes to the right, high clears and quick saves, the Pengfei athletes fully showcased their superb individual skills, fighting with all their might. The entire competition was fiercely spirited, punctuated by bursts of cheers and applause from the spectators.

The choral competition was both fiercely competitive and intensely gripping, with the Pengfei Choir presenting a poised and spirited performance. Their renditions of “When the Wutong Tree Grows, the Phoenix Will Come” and “Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China” eloquently expressed the Pengfei community’s boundless love for the Party, the motherland, and the socialist cause, celebrating them with heartfelt fervor. With vibrant passion and soaring, resonant voices, they paid tribute to the great motherland and lauded the great Communist Party of China; their stirring songs inspired and uplifted all who heard them, earning them an outstanding third-place finish.

In other competition zones, chess matches marked by composure and calm, opera contests celebrating China’s cultural heritage, and exuberant square-dance competitions all showcased the spirited determination of Pengfei athletes.
