On October 18, 2019, Pengfei Group was awarded the title of “Outstanding Enterprise of Shanxi Province” at the Provincial Conference on Promoting High-Quality Industrial Development, jointly conferred by five provincial departments: the Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Department of Science and Technology, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, and the Federation of Industry and Commerce.

On October 18, 2019, Zheng Peng, Chairman of Pengfei Group, attended the Provincial Conference on Promoting High-Quality Industrial Development at the Party School of the Shanxi Provincial Committee. In a joint decision by five provincial departments—the Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Department of Science and Technology, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, and the Federation of Industry and Commerce—Xiaoyi Shengshi Fuyuan Methanol Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was awarded the honorary title of “Outstanding Enterprise of Shanxi Province.” This distinguished honor reflects the provincial Party committee and government’s recognition and appreciation of the company’s achievements over many years. At the same time, it sets an exemplary standard for accelerating the development of a demonstration zone for the transformation and upgrading of a resource-based economy, advancing the pilot work on comprehensive energy‑revolution reforms in greater depth, and inspiring greater enthusiasm and creativity among industrial enterprises across the province to pursue high‑quality development.

Xiaoyi Shengshi Fuyuan Methanol Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was established in April 2014 with a registered capital of RMB 500 million. Located within the Wutong Ten-Million-Ton Coal Chemical Circular Economy Industrial Park in Xiaoyi City, Shanxi Province, it is a subsidiary of Xiaoyi Pengfei Industrial Co., Ltd.

In 2017, the company was recognized by the Shanxi Provincial Commission of Economy and Information Technology as a “Shanxi Province Demonstration Enterprise for Integration of Informatization and Industrialization.” In February 2018, it was certified by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China as a “Green Factory,” becoming the only coking enterprise in the province to receive this distinction. This year, Pengfei Group ranked 429th on the 2019 Top 500 Chinese Private Enterprises list and 251st on the 2019 Top 500 Chinese Private Manufacturing Enterprises list, filling the gap in Xiaoyi’s absence from the top‑100 rankings.

In recent years, the company has firmly embraced the philosophy of “pursuing green development and creating green value,” accelerating its exploration of a model that prioritizes energy conservation, resource efficiency, and the development of a circular economy, striving to achieve a win-win-win outcome of reduced energy consumption, lower emissions, and enhanced productivity. The 600,000‑ton methanol co‑production project, coupled with a 400‑million‑cubic‑meter LNG facility, is just one link in Pengfei Industrial Co., Ltd.’s coal‑chemical industry chain, centered around its 5‑million‑ton coking production base and designed to make full use of coke oven gas. In addition, Pengfei is actively advancing several ancillary chemical‑product extension projects: a 400,000‑ton Fischer–Tropsch wax synthesis project using low‑value coke fines as feedstock; a 900,000‑ton deep‑processing and comprehensive utilization project for coal tar, leveraging coking by‑products; and a million‑ton‑scale super‑suspension bed hydrogenation project that utilizes waste oil, residual oil, coal tar, crude benzene, agricultural straw, and heavy, low‑quality conventional petroleum. All these initiatives employ domestically leading and internationally advanced technologies, aiming to align with national policies, spearhead industry development, and set new benchmarks. These projects will transform traditionally low‑value inputs into cutting‑edge, green, and highly efficient new‑energy products, effectively extending the industrial chain from coking to chemicals—making chemical products the primary output while relegating coke to a secondary role—and fundamentally reshaping conventional profit models. Meanwhile, within the Pengfei Circular Economy Demonstration Park, each project is seamlessly integrated, with the waste stream from one serving as the raw material for the next, thus realizing a truly green, intensive, and highly efficient modern production system characterized by “upstream–downstream co‑production, coking as a supporting element, and chemicals as the core.” Upon completion, these projects will not only consume the waste generated at Pengfei’s coking production base but also process waste from other coking enterprises in the park, thereby driving the entire park’s economic circularity and sustainable growth.

Pengfei’s development model has broken away from the traditional coal‑coking industry’s pattern of high pollution and resource‑intensive operations. As an open and forward‑looking enterprise, Pengfei has extensively engaged domestic and international experts and leveraged relevant patents, integrating them into its existing production facilities to accelerate its progress toward intelligent, green manufacturing.
