On February 6, Zhang Hongbin, head of the New Energy Development Department at Shanghai Electric Group, along with his delegation, visited Pengfei for an exchange and discussion, bringing with them the latest achievements of a new project—green methanol. Zheng Peng, Chairman of the Board and President of Pengfei Group, and other representatives attended the meeting.

At the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on new energy, green chemical engineering, and future strategic investments.

Zhang Hongbin outlined the progress and future plans of Shanghai Electric’s green methanol project, noting that the company is actively seeking an experienced chemical‑industry operator to jointly explore new models for a green, low‑carbon transformation. With its extensive practical expertise and strong financial resources in the chemical sector, Pengfei is well positioned to collaborate; Shanghai Electric hopes to establish a strategic partnership with Pengfei to achieve mutual benefits, win‑win outcomes, and synergistic development.

Zheng Peng stated that Pengfei is committed to leveraging its strengths to develop a full hydrogen‑energy industrial chain, with particularly notable advantages in the R&D, manufacturing, and application of hydrogen‑powered heavy‑duty trucks, which can complement green methanol projects in achieving zero‑carbon transportation. He expressed hope that both parties will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation, fully capitalize on their respective strengths, integrate the upstream and downstream segments of this emerging green, low‑carbon industry, and provide a replicable model for the nation. At the same time, they aim to continuously expand their circle of win‑win partnerships, jointly contributing to the high‑quality development of China’s energy sector.
