Pengfei Group Promotes Green Energy and the Health Industry to Overseas Chinese Communities

On February 5, the “Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Visit Shanxi to Promote Investment” symposium—held on the sidelines of the 2026 Provincial CPPCC Plenary Session—took place in Taiyuan. The event was guided by the United Front Work Department of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee and spearheaded by the Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, with joint sponsorship from the Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and the Provincial Federation of Overseas Chinese. Its aim was to foster an open, collaborative ecosystem involving government, enterprises, and overseas Chinese communities. Xu Guangguo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Shanxi Provincial CPPCC; Jiao Yufeng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade; Guo Yanbin, Deputy Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee; and other dignitaries attended, while Pengfei Group was invited to participate.

At the promotional event, leaders from the Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the United Front Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial Political Consultative Conference delivered remarks in turn, introducing overseas Chinese compatriots to Shanxi’s new development dynamics and emerging cooperation opportunities. They expressed the hope that the broader overseas Chinese community would gain a deeper understanding of Shanxi’s recent transformations, seize new industrial prospects, and integrate cutting-edge international ideas, technologies, and management practices with Shanxi’s robust industrial foundation, thereby working together to open up a new chapter of mutually beneficial cooperation. During the keynote presentation, Ma Xiaolong, Assistant to the President and General Manager of the Hydrogen Energy Business Unit at Pengfei Group, took “solid foundations, promising future, and vibrant life” as his guiding theme, systematically outlining Pengfei’s industrial strategy and its achievements. He noted that, building on its strong coal‑coking base, Pengfei has proactively embraced the energy transition, pursued prudent diversified development, and transformed its resource advantages into competitive strengths. As the leading enterprise in Shanxi Province’s hydrogen‑energy industrial chain, Pengfei’s hydrogen‑energy projects have been successfully selected as pilot initiatives in the national energy sector. The comprehensive hydrogen‑energy ecosystem it has established—encompassing production, storage, transportation, refueling, end‑use applications, equipment manufacturing, and zero‑carbon logistics—offers a replicable “Pengfei Model” for Shanxi’s transformation of its traditional energy sector.

Ma Xiaolong also showcased Pengfei’s achievements in the health industry, highlighting EVOR, a premium natural drinking water enriched with the mineral strontium. He expressed his anticipation of joining forces with overseas Chinese communities to jointly promote “Shanxi’s hydrogen, Shanxi’s vehicles, and Shanxi’s water” on the global stage, injecting green momentum into Shanxi’s transformation and development and into China’s pursuit of modernization.

At the event, more than 170 guests—including overseas Chinese representatives attending the Provincial CPPCC Plenary Session from 17 countries and regions, officials from relevant provincial departments, trade promotion councils of various cities, overseas representatives of the Provincial Trade Promotion Council, representatives of export-oriented enterprises from within and outside the province, and media representatives—were invited to participate.
