On March 9, a research team led by Li Zhongyuan, secretary of the party group and president of the Provincial Academy of Social Sciences, came to the methanol project base of Pengfei Group to conduct research on production technology, industrial extension, and waste gas utilization. Wu Dongzhen, vice mayor of Xiaoyi municipal government, was accompanied by na Xuedong, vice chairman of the CPPCC municipal committee. Shengshi Fuyuan Methanol Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Pengfei Group, relies on the surplus coke oven gas produced by the 5 million-ton/year coking unit of Pengfei Industrial Co., Ltd. to build a 600000-ton methanol co-production 0.4 billion-ton LNG project, which is the first methanol co-production LNG project in the country to realize industrial production on the same process route. The process not only extends the industrial chain, but also produces different products in one system, forming an interactive industrial chain of chemical products, so that environmental benefits and economic benefits of enterprises can be improved.

At the same time, Pengfei Group is actively promoting a batch of chemical production extension projects such as 400000 tons of Fischer-Tropsch synthetic wax, 900000 tons of tar deep processing and comprehensive utilization, and million tons of super suspension bed hydrogenation. These projects will transform the low-value upgrade of traditional industries into cutting-edge technology, green and efficient new energy products, and truly realize the extension of the industrial chain from coke to chemical. In the entire coking industry chain production process, will produce a large amount of hydrogen energy. Hydrogen energy is considered to be the most promising new energy in the future because of its high energy conversion rate, clean and environmental protection. Hydrogen fuel cells have attracted much attention from the market and are expected to become the next outlet for new energy vehicles, while the industry is still in the early stage of commercialization, and companies with leading technologies have huge room for growth in the future.

After listening to Chairman Zheng Peng's introduction on the production process and the production and utilization of hydrogen energy, Li Zhongyuan expressed great interest and pointed out that hydrogen energy, as the cleanest and most valuable resource, has a broad space for future utilization. Both the institute and the enterprise hope to actively connect in energy conversion and utilization, carry out product and technology seminars, strengthen exchanges and cooperation, realize the transformation of technological achievements, and achieve a win-win situation for enterprise economic and social benefits.
